This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending my friend Karen’s bridal shower. Our paths have crossed when we worked at the same school a few years ago (she teased me for wearing Polo shirts for most of new teacher orientation, and I teased her for showing up late with Dunkin Donuts coffee and being dressed for a day at the beach on the first day of training), and we’ve kept in touch since.
The shower was at the Tuscan Bistro in Toms River, New Jersey, and the wife and I had a blast!
I instantly noticed and loved the nautical/beach theme! From the beautiful cake to the decorative anchor to the personalized cookies, the bridesmaids left no stone unturned in their planning and coordination.
The maid of honor and the bridesmaids’ decorations were on point down to the finest details, such as Sean and Karen’s wedding hashtag.
Alyssa, Karen’s Maid of Honor (on the left), kickstarted the shower by conducting a fun game of Wedding Trivia. We got 6 out of 14 right. Not too shabby! Once completed, we filled out our Wedding Bingo sheets for the main event.
Among the presents were a handful of inside jokes and kind-hearted gestures. There were many laughs and smiles, and it’s beautiful to see such love and support for Karen’s future with Sean.
It’s coming! Here’s a shot of Karen through the ribbon her bridesmaid is using to tie the Bridal Shower hat together.
The hat is almost ready! For bows and ribbons coming from so many different people, we all managed to stay within the same color family.
Perhaps Karen should wear this to work on Monday? I know I would.
Next, the bridal party set up for the Panty Poem! Are we in the right order?
“The bridesmaids have a secret to share…”
Karen takes the whole poem in stride with giggles, smiles, and laughs abound.
The poem continues and comes to a close.
Now is the part we’ve all been waiting for: CAKE!
“Karen, that piece is way too big!”
Even the seashell decor tasted phenomenal.

All in all, this was a great Saturday afternoon with some wonderful people and delicious food. It was an honor to capture these moments and memories. I cannot wait for this July 18th wedding now!
Photographer did a great job. Beautiful pictures!!!!
